Position Overview
QinetiQ seeks a Technical Writer and Editor to support a Law Enforcement Customer in Crystal City, Virginia. This role involves developing and reviewing technical communications, including engineering documents, operational procedures, plans, reports, and meeting minutes, coordinating with engineering teams. Responsibilities include maintaining technical documents, creating technical drawings, and supporting the customer mission.
Responsibilities
- U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret clearance (may hold Top Secret)
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Business, or related field, or 7+ years technical writing experience with a high school diploma
- 5+ years of technical writing experience, including engineering documentation, plans, reports, and minutes
- Experience with system security documentation and SOPs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong technical writing and editing skills, including AP Style
- Ability to research and simplify complex technical material
- Ability to work under pressure with clients and subject matter experts in cybersecurity environments
- Knowledge of communication practices across print, electronic, video, and social media
- Fast note-taking or shorthand skills for meeting discussions
- Experience creating technical briefings for leadership
- Developing articles, newsletters, executive messages, PowerPoint presentations, and infographics, with cybersecurity language familiarity
- Experience with Agile methodologies
