Position Summary: As
Associate Marketing Director of Innovation
at Calbee America, you will help shape the future of our brands by supporting the development and execution of innovation strategies that drive growth and strengthen brand equity. Reporting to the VP of Marketing and R&D, you will be responsible for managing the innovation pipeline, translating insights into product concepts, and leading cross-functional teams from idea to commercialization across multiple retail channels. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and executional excellence, strong cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of consumer and category trends within the food/snacking space. Key Responsibilities: Support the development and refinement of the innovation strategy for the Calbee Portfolio, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and consumer needs. Manage and maintain the innovation pipeline, identifying opportunities for growth through line extensions and white space innovation. Translate consumer insights, category dynamics, and competitive activity into compelling innovation concepts with clear consumer benefits and commercial potential. Lead cross-functional project teams through Calbee’s Stage Gate process, partnering with R&D, Operations, Sales, Consumer Insights, and Finance to bring innovation to life. Collaborate with the Product Development team to ensure delivery of superior taste, functionality, and quality across innovation projects. Validate product ideas, optimize positioning, and conduct iterative testing. Work closely with Brand Marketing and Sales to support sell-in strategies, go-to-market plans, and post-launch tracking. Help build business cases for innovation initiatives by leading the development of forecasts, pricing strategies, and cost estimates in collaboration with Finance and Sales. Track and report project status, risks, and key milestones to ensure alignment and timely execution. Monitor market trends, category adjacencies, and emerging consumer behaviors to inform future pipeline opportunities. Required Qualifications & Skills: 6–10 years of experience in Brand Management or Innovation, ideally within the CPG or food/beverage industry Proven experience supporting or leading innovation initiatives from concept to launch, ideally across multiple channels (e.g., retail, club, e-commerce) Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; ability to synthesize data and insights to build compelling cases for innovation Experience with cross-functional project management, including working with R&D, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain Exposure to Stage Gate or other innovation processes Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills Experience with tools such as Nielsen, Numerator, WGSN, or similar Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort working in a fast-paced, agile environment About Us: At Calbee America Inc., we believe great snacks start with great people.
