Qualifications:Must have great media relations skills and established media contactsStrong strategizing, organizational, and time management abilitiesMust be a team playerExcellent writing and communication skills requiredStrong storytelling and editing skills requiredAttention to detail is essentialCulturally aware and curious; you're always thinking about what we can do betterThrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple initiatives while meeting deadlinesCrisis management experience is a plusBasic sports knowledge or sports background is a plusEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Format positive news coverage about agency and staff and cooperate with media to formulate new contentExpand the public profile of key brand-facing executives among industry audiences, including relationship-building with key industry trades and publicationsConstantly monitor media and social media to find exciting opportunities, stay ahead of industry trends, and bring fresh ideas to increase brand awareness and earned media coverageCraft compelling pitches and communication materials to tell our storyCampaign amplification planning, research, and idea generationDevelop and distribute press releases to the media and monitor media that is releasedSecure press coverage in key media outletsMaintain extensive and meticulously updated contact lists and databasesManage multiple projects simultaneously; prioritize effectively while keeping the bigger picture in mindResponsible for managing projects end-to-end, from ideation to executionProvide creative, out-of-the-box thinking that drives business outcomesRequirements:
2-3 years of full-time public relations experience (agency or in-house)Bachelor's degree in related field (or equivalent experience)Proven success in pitching TV, print, and digital mediaEnthusiastic, ambitious, reliable and possess a strong work ethicCreative flair across writing and ideation, with a lens of innovative thinkingA passion for sport and entertainment with a finger on the pulse of popular cultureBased in Orange County, California areaThis is an in-office position
