Plastek Industries, Inc. has opening in Erie, PA for Mold Designer. Creates manufacturing processes; designs dyes, fixture, 3D models, frames, assembly fixtures, automatic lid closers (IML); determines good cooling systems on the tooling; performs mathematical calculations of plastic injection, simulations; and determines the application of steel using CAD software - maintaining quality, delivery dates, productivity requirements at all times and put the bill of material on SAP. Works with customer data to create robust injection mold designs that consider customer standards along with manufacturing best practices. Lead pre-engineering meetings to determine tool ability (feasibility) of customer data. Work with Program Managers to determine plant requirements and communicate tooling requirements to design team responsible for engineering output to ensure customer timing is met. Troubleshoot and provide answers to any issues that develop in the design process. Responsible for scheduling and facilitating internal and customer design reviews. Communicate and work with the Technology Department to assist in improving CAD processes and the PROEngineering and SolidWorks part library, along with software's improvement and present concerns or design related issues in the Engineering communication meeting. Must have Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design or related, or foreign degree equivalent, and 60 months of experience as Plastic injection mold designer or related, including 60 months of experience in designing molds using CREO (Pro-Engineer) Software. 60 months of experience in designing molds using Solidworks Software. 60 months of experience with Windchill PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Software or equivalent engineering file management systems.
