Position Summary

OSU Enrollment Management Information Technology (EMIT) is seeking a Web Design Assistant to work an average of 10-20 hours a week creating web pages that are inclusive, user-centered,

accessible, secure, and maintainable. This position will assist in migrating Drupal websites, improving accessibility of EMIT digital properties, and aiding in design deliverables. This is a part-time student position with a possibility to extend into Fall 2024.

Position Duties

The Web Design Assistant will be responsible for enhancing EMIT web experiences for our

public websites that enable easy student and family discovery and encourage signup and

application. This work includes: editing and designing web pages in Drupal 10, reviewing web

pages for accessibility (eg, hyperlinks, headings, metadata, captions), adjusting page layout

styles for consistency, and creating design deliverables in Figma.

Approximately 80% of the work can be completed remotely on days and times agreed upon by

the supervisor. Approximately 20% of the work must be completed in the EMIT office, on the

Corvallis campus of OSU, during operating hours of Kerr Administration Building. This work

involves weekly check-ins with the supervisor in-person or on Zoom.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and

pursuing a program or course of study

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not

eligible for employment

Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a homeschooling

program

Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*

Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term

Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per

term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be

considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A

reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be

provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications

Excellent technical skills including organizing digital files and images.

Proficiency with basic functions in Word, Excel, and Adobe.

Excellent attention to detail.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Interest in web development and management with special attention to visual design.

Experience using Drupal or other content management systems.

Experience with design programs such as Photoshop, XD, or Figma.
