Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Social Media Coordinator position with ASOSU at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Social Media Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President's Public Relations Team to promote ASOSU and develop social media marketing plans for various ASOSU campaigns, initiatives, events, and programs with the goal of improving the visibility of ASOSU within the OSU campus and community. The Social Media Coordinator will also be overseeing all ASOSU social medias, and work with the Website and Marketing Coordinator to distribute materials through the ASOSU social media platforms and collaborate to update and maintain the ASOSU website to cultivate student engagement.

Given the limited hours and timeline of ASOSU's advocacy, these responsibilities (including those provided below) may be amended or vary depending on the ongoing needs or emergent issues and/or circumstances.

Position DutiesAct as social media manager for all ASOSU social medias;Create social media content aligned with ASOSU's mission; collaborate with ASOSU Executive Branch members to create content for respective events, initiatives and campaigns;Maintain communication with MU Creative Studio in collaboration with the Marketing and Website Development Coordinator to create marketing materials and content;Assess ASOSU social media performance, and create a marketing strategy to improve visibility and promotion of ASOSU;Maintain a timeline for planned social media content in collaboration with ASOSU Executive Branch members;Promote other events, initiatives, and campaigns of campus partners on the ASOSU social media;Continuously monitor student engagement with all ASOSU social medias.Pursue creative and sustainable avenues for student communication and feedback;Support the Public Relations Team when needed to ensure all public relations tasks are completed efficiently;Attend regular Public Relations Team, all-Executive staff, and debrief meetings;Assist the Chief of Staff by providing relevant input during expenditure processes;Provide a report to the ASOSU Congress at least once per term;Meet with ASOSU Advisor biweekly for one-on-one meetings;Meet regularly with the ASOSU President and Vice President;Send the Chief of Staff a schedule of working hours at the beginning of each academic term.Serve and work on additional committees and campaigns, such as the Voter Registration Drive and ASOSU Elections, at the direction of the ASOSU President;Other duties as assigned by the ASOSU President and Vice President.Minimum Qualifications

Additional Required Qualifications

ASOSU Constitution eligibility requirements:

Be currently admitted to the university.Be eligible for student employment with the university except for requirements regarding credit hours or eligibility for enrollment in the United States.Have been previously enrolled in at least one prior OSU or college-level credit, or be enrolled in first term at Oregon State University

Must be available for training for the week of September 16th, 2024.Undergraduate students shall have earned at least six credits hours in their most recently completed term, be currently registered for at least six credit hours, not be on conduct probation, and have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.00Graduate students shall have earned at least five hours of credit in their most recently completed term, be currently registered for at least five hours, not be on conduct probation, and have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00.A commitment to promoting and advancing diversity and creating an atmosphere of inclusion;Communication skills in areas including but not limited to interpersonal, public speaking, digital, verbal, and written communications;Ability to manage time and work accurately with interruptions to meet a deadline;Work well under pressure, exercising flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretionWillingness to be adaptable, to accept changes and try new things;Ability to work independently as well as in a team.Preferred (Special) Qualifications
