Synerfac is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer for our client in Columbia, MD. Our client is an international MEP engineering firm providing consulting, design, and project management services in the United States and the Middle East.
The Senior Plumbing Designer is responsible for the preparation of contract documents and specifications for Plumbing and Fire Protection systems and will work independently on multiple concurrent projects, both in design and construction. This encompasses advanced calculations, systems analysis, quality control of finished projects, and field/construction coordination activities.
* Perform full design of plumbing systems (sanitary, water, gas, storm, medical gas, fire protection), including full equipment selection, for small to large projects. Project types include Residential/Mixed-Use, Healthcare, Commercial/Retail, Hospitality, Educational, and Civic.* Analyze system options and evaluate existing systems where appropriate.* Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within Allen & Shariff and externally with clients.* Complete full design in accordance with code, predominantly using Revit, though some smaller projects may utilize AutoCAD.* Write specifications for plumbing and fire protection systems.* Provide bid and construction phase services, including reviewing bids, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, participating in project walk-throughs, and providing field observation reports.
Job Requirements
- Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) required.- Proficiency in Revit is required; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.- At least 8 years of relevant hands-on Plumbing and Fire Protection design experience.- Strong knowledge of plumbing system design, code compliance, and construction coordination.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
