This role will focus on supporting sports & lifestyle communications and work in close partnership with top-tier agency clients in the mobile technology, athletic apparel and wellness industries. The ideal candidate will work with the communications teams to support earned media strategies and creative ideas that connect these brands with consumers through pop culture across earned, owned and social channels. You'll be working with different teams to bring these ideas to life through music, sport, fashion, art, film and more. The successful candidate will also enjoy managing multiple projects, supporting high-profile media activations, coordinating quickly changing logistics and more. The successful candidate should also have experience working with the media, a good understanding of digital and social trends and engagement opportunities, strong writing skills, and a commitment to creative thinking.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research, uncover and develop story angles that will drive media interest for client campaignsHelp identify and craft media pitches that drive press coverageConduct targeted outreach on behalf of clients for key campaigns, initiatives, interview opportunities, etc.Contribute to cultivating long-term relationships with key lifestyle, sports and consumer media on behalf of clientsHelp draft press materials and internal communications documentsHelp support and manage day-do-day account programsAttend regular client meetings and conference callsStay on the pulse of culture and industry trends - keeping up and interacting with relevant media on a regular basisOwn account monitoring and reporting processes, as well as upkeep of brand media listsStay up to date with emerging technologies and trends, and demonstrate an understanding of how they integrate into communications programsWork collaboratively with cross-agency functions (Talent & Influencer, Branded Experiences, Branded Content, etc.) for broader client programs and activationsQUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years of relevant experience in integrated communications and/or related fields, including research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing (sports and lifestyle experience preferred)A solid grasp of all basic public relations tools - including research, writing and editing, and developing/maintaining media relationships - and how they are used to achieve client goalsA fundamental understanding of media outreach assignments and the ability to apply experience and initiative in developing media strategiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with multiple levels of internal staff and external clientsA proactive, solutions-oriented approach to workA strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be a team playerThe ability to navigate the ever-changing earned and social media landscapeThe interest and drive to stay on top of trends and proactively recommend opportunities for insertion of clients in pop culture momentsBachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university

$52,000 - $63,000 a year

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
