What We Do

About the Team:

The Product Design & Research (PDR) team is internal to Sequoia and supports the organization through user experience (UX) design and research. We employ a variety of research methodologies to capture user behaviors, needs, and pain points. Afterwards, we utilize those findings to inform user-centered solutions.

About the Role:

As a UX Designer, you will develop user-centered solutions for users both internal and external to the organization. You will partner with Product and UX Research to understand the user, and then use those findings to build a solution. You will also serve as the organization's evangelist for the user, educator of best UX practices, and design subject matter expert.

Responsibilities:Work with UX Research to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain pointsUse journey maps, process flows, and other methods to illustrate design conceptsDevelop user-centered solutions informed by research findingsTake feedback on designs, and iterate as neededProvide interactive prototypes to communicate design solutions to team members and serve as a guide for the development teamCollaborate with a diverse group of partners, including, but limited to: UX Research, Engineering, Operations, and ProductCommunicate clearly across various audiences, levels, and job functionsBuild consensus with partnersPractice active and empathetic listeningTakes constructive feedback well, and strives to improve professionallyWorks autonomously and independentlyPractices a flexible approach to problem solvingTakes accountability for their actionsMinimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or Interaction Design, or related field (e.g. Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design)3+ years of experience in an applied product design settingExperience collaborating with UX Researchers to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain pointsExperience using a UX design tool (e.g. Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch) to build user-centered design solutions informed by research findingsExperience with research and product analytics tools is a plusExperience creating, contributing to, and managing design systems is a plusProficient at collaborating with a diverse group of partners, including, but limited to: UX Research, Engineering, Operations, and ProductAbility to work autonomously and independently on projects, with some oversight as neededPositive attitude, with an interest in receiving coaching for professional development

Pay Range: $93,000 - $129,000 annually

This hiring range is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range of possible compensation at the time of the posting, and is subject to change. The actual compensation offered will be determined by various factors, which may include a candidate's education, training, experience, and geographic location.
