Communication Specialist

Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CST, with some flexibility-a total of 40 per week.

This position requires the employee to assist with researching writing internal and external communications.

Communication pieces are published both internally on the intranet and externally on the organization's website.

This position interfaces between creative, technical, and all levels of management in a rapidly changing environment.

This position provides creative direction in designing and developing products that support business strategies and fill the needs of specific customer groups.

This position requires flexibility, the ability to motivate others, excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, and learning and retaining knowledge.

Responsibilities include:

ResearchInterviewingCopywritingEditingApproval routingCreating engaging contentTracking tasks in a web-based project management platformCorresponding with stakeholders and leadershipUsing Excel and other MS Office apps to report and exchange dataKeeping communications projects on scheduleOther duties assigned

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor s degree1-2 years of copywriting or professional experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Windows, internet browsers, etc.) are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in English, marketing, communications, advertising, journalism, or related field OR bachelor s degree with 3-5 years of professional experience.2-5 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, digital communications, or a related fieldAdvanced proficiency in MS Office suite and web-based platformsWorking knowledge of AP Style
