JOB SUMMARYThe Communications Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of communication and media related to our church's events, initiatives, and branding. We are seeking a savvy and creative leader who excels in managing multiple projects, maintaining consistent messaging, and engaging our community across various media platforms. This pivotal role is essential in elevating the church's communications, messaging and engagement within the church and the broader community through digital, print, and in-person channels.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, branding, and media management

- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress, with at least 2 years of professional use

- Social Media : Proficiency in creating and maintaining a social media presence for a personality, organization or brand with at least 750 followers/subscribers.

- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through at least 2 years of relevant work experience

- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, supported by at least 2 years of experience in a similar role

Preferred Qualifications

- Team Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively in a professional team-based environment

- Artistic Skillset: Demonstrated artistic mindset with an eye for visual design, supported by a portfolio or previous work examples

- Web Development and Coding: Experience in web development, design, and coding

RESPONSIBILITIES & ASSOCIATED TASKS

PROMOTION OF ALL CHURCH EVENTS AND INITIATIVES: 25%- Develop and execute promotional strategies for church events and initiatives- Collaborate with ministry leaders to ensure effective communication of events to the congregation and community

BRANDING & DESIGN OVERSIGHT: 10%- Manage church branding and ensure consistency across all media- Oversee department graphics, signage, Canva assets, and print pieces- Ensure all materials align with the church's mission and values

SOCIAL MEDIA OVERSIGHT: 15%- Develop and implement social media strategies- Manage social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement

MARKETING (INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL): 10%- Create and execute marketing plans to reach internal and external audiences- Coordinate marketing efforts across various platforms and mediums

WEBSITE MANAGEMENT: 10%- Maintain and update the church website with current information and resources- Ensure the website is user-friendly and effectively communicates the church's mission

IN-SERVICE COMMUNICATIONS: 5%- Manage in-service communications, including announcements and visual media- Coordinate with worship and tech teams to ensure smooth delivery

CREATIVE PROJECTS / FILM PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT: 10%- Oversee creative projects and film production from concept to completion- Manage scheduling, shooting, and archival of creative assets- Produce video announcements and other video content

FILM STUDIO MANAGEMENT: 5%- Manage the church's film studio, including equipment and resources- Coordinate with volunteers and staff for studio use and production needs

DISTRIBUTION OF CONTENT TO PLATFORMS: 5%- Oversee the distribution of content to various platforms such as podcasts, website, and social media- Ensure timely and effective dissemination of messages

PHOTOGRAPHY: 5%- Coordinate photography for church events and initiatives- Maintain a library of visual assets for use in promotional materials

SUPERVISORY

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Creative Arts DirectorResponsible For: Various Creative Arts Contractors and volunteers.
