As Director of Product Design, you’ll help transform all customer-facing websites, mobile applications, and other interactive experiences. You will serve as an influential change agent in concepting, design, testing, and launch processes by crafting a scalable design system and extensible UI standards, defining UX best practices, and collaborating closely with colleagues in IT, editorial, product management, and marketing. In parallel with all that, you’ll assemble the team of talented designers who will expand and execute on those frameworks. With an approach to design that’s customer-centric, KPI-focused, data-driven, and Agile, you’ll imbue your design organization with those same qualities, leading them to achieve superior results on digital initiatives such as interactive advertising landing pages, new digital product launches, transactional portals and portfolio management tools for both responsive web and native app.Why You?How you’ll know if you’re a fit…With ten or more years of digital product design and UX/UI design experience, including roles with progressively broader management responsibility, you’ve served as design lead for several large-scale digital transformations and an enormous number of smaller-scale yet highly meaningful creative design projects for major brands, as evidenced by a portfolio replete with high-quality exemplars of responsive web, mobile and tablet app design. Experience in finance is helpful, but not necessary, but you must be flat-out fantastic at designing simple and elegant solutions for complex interactions. An agency pedigree is welcome for its exposure to a broad range of challenges and solutions. You specialize in high-level approaches to product development, including design thinking, lean UX, and Agile methodologies. You’re an expert in research-guided design, data analysis, human-centered design, and rapid prototyping. You’re adept with Sketch, Principal, Zeplin, and prototyping tools such as InVision, Framer, or Figma, and have a solid knowledge of micro-interaction design and motion graphics. You have the ideal personality for this role if you’re a charismatic leader who loves the energy of inspiring and working with a collaborative team of experts. No prima donna, you don’t let your design ego get in the way of the best solution, and you don’t let your own expertise prevent your teammates from growing their skills and exposure so they can shine in their own right. The Inside SkinnyWhy you should quit your job right now and join this organization! You’ll be skippering a lean Agile team leading a complete 180-degree digital transformation. Because the team is small, there’s no silo, and you’ll have the rare opportunity of growing it the way you know it should be done.
