We are looking for a Swimwear Designer, temp to perm, for a top fashion company in New York, New York! This individual will be responsible for seasonally designing and executing a specific classification that coordinates with the brand concept and philosophy. This job will be hybrid located in the New York office.
Responsibilities:
Seasonally initiate concept within the brand strategyEvaluate other classifications objectively and give criticismWork within the brand framework of Designer/Buyer partnership and to be able grow a classificationEstablish full working knowledge of raw materials inherent to a specific classificationOversee all aspects of presentation from boards to prototypes to articulation of ideas and market directionMake monthly presentations to design and merchandising staffWork closely with other members of the design team to ensure a cohesive product line is realizedResearch market trends domestically and internationally and evaluate trends as they relate to the brand imageEstablish full working knowledge of lab dip procedure and washes and finishesRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion or ArtMust have 5-7 years of Swim experienceRelevant industry experienceAbility to act as liaison between many departments: excellent communication and analytic skillsProficient in Illustrator and Photoshop
