CENTER FOR RURAL ENGAGEMENT (BL-CFRE-IUBLA)

Department Information

The IU Center for Rural Engagement improves the lives of Hoosiers through collaborative initiatives that discover and deploy scalable and flexible solutions to common challenges facing rural communities. Working in full-spectrum community innovation through research, community-engaged teaching and student service, the center builds vision, harnesses assets and cultivates sustainable leadership structures within the communities with which it engages to ensure long-term success. The Center strives toward equity and inclusion by implementing and following antiracist principles.

Job Summary

The Center for Rural Engagement multimedia design intern will use print and digital media to tell the story of rural Indiana and IU's collaboration with communities in the region.

Department-Specific ResponsibilitiesDesigns graphics and prepares layouts for a variety of print and digital platforms.Captures photography and videography, which may include travel.Helps prepare social media content.Completes other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Work Location

Bloomington, Indiana

This is an in-person position.

Advertised Salary

$15 per hour

Work Hours

Monday - Friday; 10 - 15 hours per week

This position is capped at 29 hours per week.
