Job Summary

The individual who is hired into this position will be asked to perform duties pertaining to the operation and delivery of printed and digital-related systems and technology.

Duties to include:

Trains and assists student staff to support print, production, and display scheduling operations

Operates digital marketing/display programming, synchronized display scheduling, and other digital display technology, programs, and systems

Operates and maintains large and small format digital printers Performs diagnostic tests to verify function and/or troubleshoot problems and updates hardware, software, and related programs

Provides guidance and training to end users regarding system operation

Performs pre- and post-production of print/practical media, such as verification of file compatibility for print, preparation of surfaces, application/removal of media, and the restoration of surfaces as needed

Performs pre- and post-production for digital media, such as verifying file compatibility, application/removal of media, restoration of default statuses, cleaning of viewable surfaces, and the maintenance of media and equipment as needed

Evaluates and recommends new innovative solutions or equipment for purchase

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Large Format printing – paper posters, banners and window clings, occasional mounting on adhesive foamcore

Small Format digital copier printing – flyers, handbills, business cards, booklets

Bindery – using hydraulic paper cutter, business card slitter, stapler, folder, coiler

Physical deployment of printed pieces Knowledge of online calendaring and scheduling tools

Ability to engage and participate with project management tools for both practical and online deliverables (wrike and Yodeck preferred)

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service

Working Conditions:

Work in an open community environment, collaborating with peers and student staff

All work will be done on-site, unless otherwise directed by the Union Marketing Creative Director

Ability to engage in both on-screen work and physical labor requiring 10 lbs. lifted waist high onto carts or machines.

Engage in production and deployment of practical and digital display art as requested by the Union Marketing Creative Director

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants for this position must have or provide evidence of the following:

1 year of professional experience in a physically active workplace

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in online calendaring/scheduling tools and virtual-meeting products

Preferred Qualifications

Highly qualified applicants for this position will also provide evidence of the following:

Associate degree or higher in Computer Studies, General Studies, Communications, Digital/Visual Communications or Design

1 year of experience in print/print production

1 year of experience in digital media or web development position

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office or other similar software

Demonstrated experience with cloud-based display/wayfinding management tools

Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud especially InDesign

Digital workflow experience

Target Salary Range Starting rate of $19.50 an hour (Overtime eligible with night and weekend premium differential)
