Salary/Pay

Range

: $42,599 - $51,388 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

This position is currently scheduled to work on campus three (3) days per week.

Summary

The entry level Marketing and Events Coordinator assists and implements marketing and event planning initiatives for the College of Business (COB) to include the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program (DFEI), the UCCS Economic Forum, Executive Education, alumni events, and other initiatives as it relates to external communications/programming. This position reports to the COB Marketing and Communications Program Manager and will be responsible for coordinating with offices within the College to support internal and external communications, event promotions, development and implementation of content on all social, web, and e-communications platforms. These duties and services are provided for various COB stakeholders to include graduate, undergraduate, grant-funded programs, non-credit programs, and special initiatives. Work on some nights and weekends may be required. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Marketing and Communications (40%)

Supports development, production, and posting of content and event communications across a variety of COB platforms, including social media, email, website, print and digital marketing materials, videos and/or advertisements.

Designs and sends event e-communications for COB offices (DFEI, Economic Forum, etc.).

Writes compelling copy for a variety of communication materials; knowledge of AP style a plus (press releases, emails, flyers, etc.)

Ensures compliance with design standards, logo usage, and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.

Develops and manages College of Business event platform Cvent through event registration pages, sign-ups, and event email communications for variety of College of Business activities. Also acts as a support and liaison with other Cvent users/planners

Markets events and opportunities directly to various stakeholders on campus and in the community using campus email and customer relationship software.

Organizes and Coordinates Projects and Events (45%)

Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program

Plans and coordinates Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative events such as ethics competitions, case studies, workshops, seminars, speaker series, and other activities. Participates in and attends other College of Business events as appropriate.

Responsible for event management to include speaker and venue selection, technology support, catering, promotions, budget management, and procurement.

Arranges group travel for speakers, faculty, and students.

Occasionally travels to and attends offsite ethics events.

Serves as point of contact for vendors and contact vendors to exchange information and solve problems.

UCCS Economic Forum

Manages Economic Forum communications including weekly e-mails to Forum partners and periodic newsletters.

Plans and coordinates the annual UCCS Economic Forum event which includes full cycle event management: speaker and venue selection, ticketing and registration, technology support, catering, and promotions.

Obtains, trains, and coordinates dozens of volunteers (e.g. ushers, event production, check-in, guest speakers, etc.) to support the annual Economic Forum event.

Plans and coordinates other Economic Forum events including quarterly partner events.

Assists in managing and cultivating partnerships and sponsorships for the Economic Forum.

Executive Education, Alumni, and Additional External Relations Events

Establishes and maintains relationships with Executive Education and Alumni Faculty Directors, vendors and venues, coordinating catering, etc.

Provides event support including printing, signage, and communication with participants.

Creates reliable financial reports and collects payments on time.

Plans for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event.

Maintains a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events.

Project Coordination (15%)

Liaises and traffics event marketing requests from a variety of offices and programs.

Coordinates COB event marketing projects to effectively meet deadlines.

Works with COB programs for event planning, marketing and promotion.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Completed Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment (e.g. Business, Marketing, Communications, etc.).

At least one (1) year of full-time equivalent work experience in a role related to marketing or communications.

At least one (1) year of full-time equivalent event planning experience (for example, as a job duty of a current or previous position).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working for a university or a non-profit company.

Experience with CRM and/or eComm tools, Cvent, and/or Canva.

Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Premiere Pro.

Experience with CRM and/or eComm tools, paid digital ads (Facebook, Google), Drupal, Google Analytics, Wordpress, Cvent, Formstack, MailChimp, and/or Canva.

Experience with direct mail programs (traditional and electronic), advertising, promotional materials, media relations, and web and database marketing.

Experience in maintaining branding guidelines.

Experience in partnerships, sponsorships & B2B sales.

Experience and understanding of event planning and event management software such as Cvent.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit.

Tasks may involve using a computer screen continuously for long periods of time.

Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse continuously for long periods of time.
