The Director of Investor Relations, Marketing & Special Projects plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth and community development by cultivating relationships with investors, stakeholders, and promoting the county's economic opportunities. This strategic position involves overseeing investor relations for Florence County Progress, marketing strategies of both Progress and Partnership organizations, and communication efforts to attract and retain businesses, investors, and partners. Working with the CEO, this position will be assigned special projects dedicated to both community and economic development.

Promotes positive relationships with existing members that help advance economic development efforts and maintain their involvement in the organization.Identifies, cultivates, and secures new investment partnerships. Promotes positive relationships with allies of economic development and recruits new members to Florence County Progress.Focuses on securing and retaining higher level Progress investors.Provides regular updates and reports to investors on economic development activities, opportunities, and the impact of their investments.Marketing Strategy:With the CEO, reports regularly to the Board of Directors of Progress and EDP on investor metrics.Develops and implements a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with economic development goals, investor relations, and marketing initiatives.Builds brand awareness via social media, annual report, newsletters, emails, and website to increase Progress membership, create consistent messaging, and gain more engagement of prospects to FCEDP.Creates marketing collateral, presentations, and promotional materials to showcase the county's strengths and opportunities.Collaborates with internal teams to align marketing efforts with economic development initiatives.Communication:Serves as the primary spokesperson for investor-related matters.Develops and maintains effective communication channels with investors, partners, and the community.Works with other allies and partners (NESA, SCDOC) on co-marketing opportunities.Ensures alignment between the organization's strategic goals and the interests of the board members, who play a crucial role in decision-making, governance, and oversight.Serves as a liaison to assist with the needs of newly announced companies in the community. Acts as a concierge of sorts for the new company.Crafts compelling narratives and messages that highlight the county's economic achievements and potential.Handles social media to include Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Assists in the coordination of all press releases, annual reports, and newsletters.Event Management:Plans, organizes, and executes investor-related events, conferences, and seminars.Coordinates and hosts site visits for potential investors and partners.Data Analysis and Reporting:Utilizes data and analytics to assess the impact of economic development initiatives.Prepares regular reports on key performance indicators, investor engagement, and marketing effectiveness.Collaboration:Collaborates with internal teams, government agencies, and community organizations to align economic development efforts.Engages with local, regional, and national organizations to enhance the county's visibility and partnerships.Budget Management/Finance:Working with staff, manages, and allocates budgets for marketing and investor relations activities including events.Maintains budget and cost controls for all Progress events with the CEO and establishes budgets for the next year. Is responsible for invoicing of new and existing members. Works with accounting firm to ensure budget is adhered to, invoices are processed out in a timely manner, and that the 990 is processed. Provides oversight for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.Working with the third party accounting firm and CEO, will manage financial data for Progress, including transactions and record keeping of accounts for both internal and external uses. Some management of expenses related to Investor Relations with the Partnership will also be included (special events).Develops sustainable sources of revenue to support the Director in reaching established goals, engaging the private sector to achieve economic development success.Ensures efficient use of resources to maximize impact and return on investment.Other Duties/Special Projects:Serves as the conduit between the Marksmanship Academy and the community, as well as local, state, and federal governments and agencies, plus economic development allies.Develops marketing strategy and collateral materials for Marksmanship Academy to promote its programs, competitions, and clinics, with an emphasis on safety, as well as developing mission and vision statements for the Academy.Assists in the development of free educational/learning resources on firearms and safety that may be disseminated to the public.Serves as a Special Project Manager, when directed by the CEO, for other various initiatives that the CEO deems appropriate.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Proven experience in investor relations, marketing, or a related field, preferably in economic development or a similar industry.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Proficient in data analysis and reporting.Strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.Familiarity with economic development principles and practices preferred.Graphic design skills a plus.Valid SC Driver’s License.Proficiency in QuickBooks or other accounting software.Proficiency in CRM platforms for investor and vendor management.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
