Job Description:

The internal communications manager leads the development and execution of internal communications programs and strategies on behalf of Highland Hospital, with an emphasis on promoting and interpreting information related to employee engagement, the hospital’s management and strategic plans, and business operations. A critical role within the Public Relations team, the internal communications manager will work with leaders and colleagues throughout the hospital and its satellite locations to develop and launch communications strategies that engage and inspire employees around the hospital’s mission and guiding principles.

The ideal candidate will create relevant and timely organizational news reports and develop employee-focused articles and stories to keep employees well informed and energized about the hospital’s direction, key initiatives, new services, and events as well as individual, team, and hospital achievements. He or she will work with key internal clients to position organizational changes appropriately, communicate appropriate information, and help move audience members toward awareness, understanding, and engagement goals.

Key internal clients include: Human Resource, Education, Facilities, Environmental Services, Quality, Public Relations, and the Highland Foundation. Coordinates closely with supervisor for advice and assistance, but is able to work autonomously on projects.

Success in the role will be assessed on the quality and accuracy of communications, an ability to create interesting, employee-focused copy while interpreting organizational metrics in an engaging manner, integration with leaders and key partners to support employee engagement and Highland Hospital pride

Salary Range:

$61,000-$87,500 annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:

Education: B.S. Degree. Degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations preferred.

Experience: Strong writing background; 5-8 years of experience in health care-related Communications; Human Resource, Public Relations or Broadcast news or print publication experience a plus.

License/Certification Required: N/A

Skills: Strong speaking, writing, editing, project management skills; knowledge of health care issues; knowledge of PowerPoint is essential.

Skills:

Intermediate photography, videography, and editing skills.

Intermediate graphic design skills.

Knowledge of content creation tools such as Kapwing, Canva, Adobe, SharePoint, InDesign and Photoshop is helpful.
