We are seeking an experienced and dynamic internal communications expert to lead our internal communications strategy and initiatives. The Manager of Internal Communications will play a pivotal role in shaping messaging and delivering information to our employees while continuing to build a culture of global collaboration and communication. This position is based in Houston, TX.Responsibilities:Internal Communications Strategy: Develop a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that informs, educates and excites our global employee base including messaging, creative and channel strategies.Internal Campaigns: Work closely with business units and functions and our creative team to develop internal campaigns on topics covering safety, diversity, inclusion & belonging, benefits, community impact and more.Executive Communications: Develop and implement a program that connects employees with our leadership to ensure the organization stays informed and alignedTeam Building: In this role you will have the opportunity to build our internal communications strategy and the team to support the implementation of campaigns and initiatives.Day-to-Day Communications Management: Supporting business units and functions through consultation and training on best practices for intra and inter-departmental communications*Qualifications*Core Competencies:Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or other writing-intensive degree preferred10 years experience in corporate marketing and/or communicationsPublic company experience preferredInternal communications experience preferredExperience using internal communications software and platforms a plusStrong writing skills; writing and editing communications will be a requirement in this positionProven experience developing and executing successful communication strategies that drive employee engagement and alignment for large, global organizationsExtraordinary written and verbal communication skills, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling messaging for a diverse global audienceAbility to collaborate effectively and build relationships with subject matter experts and stakeholders at every level across a global businessA consultative, educational and influential communication style that can create alignment across the organizationExperience working closely with brand and creative teams to execute internal communications campaigns and initiativesFamiliarity with internal communication tools and technologies and best practices surrounding accessibility and securityAbility to quickly develop a strong sense of Oxy’s culture and voice, and a commitment to our core valuesA cross-functional background including external communications experience is strongly preferredRecruitment FraudIt has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
