This role leads the Marketing group within the greater US Market Access (USMA) organization that supports Pfizer’s U.S. Biopharma business which is accountable for driving approximately ~60B dollars of Pfizer’s revenue. USMA Marketing is a multi-functional team responsible for developing and executing best-in-class market access strategies to ensure access for Pfizer’s products as well as being accountable for innovative strategic partnerships with Payer customers.

The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.USMA Marketing consists of multiple teams focused on four key areas:Developing and executing specific brand access strategies for pre-launch and launch assets.Building tools and resources to communicate value and enable high impact population health programs.Creating customer plans and strategies to develop market insights and align Pfizer objectives with those of our customers.Executing strategic initiatives with large payer customers that deliver value and thus help win access for Pfizer products.In addition to other leads, there are five Access Leads in USMA-Marketing reporting to the VP. These leaders act as Senior Business Partners to the BU’s and also lead teams of experienced market access professionals supporting inline and pre-approval assets. The Payer Marketing colleagues on these teams leverage marketing tools and techniques to enable strong engagement with customers including a compelling value narrative (Payer Value Proposition).

The position requires a strong grasp of Pfizer’s business, Pfizer Products, the U.S. healthcare and policy environment, and Marketing tools and techniques. The role requires strategic, innovative and analytic thinking with a high degree of financial and business acumen.

The incumbent should have experience developing and executing Brand and franchise strategies as well as working with large Payer customers, with demonstrated ability to work with Senior leaders, key stakeholders and customers. A close partnership with many Pfizer functional areas including Global Access and Value (GAV) functions, Biopharmaceutical Group (PBG) Global Business Units/product teams, the North America Leadership team, External Affairs, Legal, Medical Affairs, Policy, Digital and Finance is required. In addition, this position must be able to effectively represent Pfizer externally with key stakeholders and internally at the most senior levels including Pfizer’s Executive Leadership Team.

The Vice President, US Market Access Marketing is accountable for achieving business critical objectives and OP Plan financial and Access targets across US Biopharma.

In addition, this position:Leads leaders to motivate and inspire a cross functional, multi-disciplinary team of ~40 colleagues to deliver high levels of performance.Leverages understanding/knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare System to develop, implement and execute innovative strategies that create, maintain and expand market access and drive differentiation and performance of Pfizer’s products.Ensures development of strong payer operating plans and strategies aligned with Payer Accounts and Brand goals. Accountable for helping to develop, align and attain OPPLAN access and GTN targets for priority products.Builds and maintains productive, collaborative relationships with key senior level stakeholders, including Division Presidents and the Executive Leadership Team.Works closely with the Payer Account Management PAM leaders to ensure effective cascade of strategies, messages, tactics and training to maximize customer engagement on the value of Pfizer brands; ensure clear strategic and timely collaboration, guidance and direction is provided with the Account team.Ensures delivery of tailored and focused messages, resources and tactics with large Payer accounts; relentlessly drives the development of innovative strategies and tactics to differentiate Pfizer and Pfizer products with payer customers.Accountable for ensuring that clear and compelling value narratives are developed, based on strong evidence and objective methodologies, for products at all stages of the product lifecycle beginning with late phase products in development through loss of patent exclusivity.Ensures early engagement on key assets, including BD, to ensure that product strategy and key assumptions are aligned to expectations of the Access landscape and future performance.Responsible to build and implement best-in-class Marketing strategies, resources, tactics, practices and programs.Responsible for building/enhancing US Market Access Marketing capabilities and innovation to reflect evolving market and healthcare landscape; transforms USMA Marketing capabilities, integrates with CMO transformation process, and focuses on marketing simplification, insight generation, micro-segmentation, and omnichannel communications.Champions change management within USMA-Marketing to maintain Industry-leading capabilities.Accountable to ensure processes are in place for strong compliant governance, efficient and quality decision making.Anticipates and monitors healthcare policy changes and develop strategies that improves patient access.Ensures tight alignment and execution between Global and US multi-functional teams; drives business opportunities/challenges from the business to relevant USMA stakeholders and drives meaningful impact back to the business; directs cross functional teams to align objectives and improve execution/evolution of payer strategies and tactics.Identifies opportunities to improve team processes and controls; help to ensure business decisions are made compliantly, effectively, and efficiently within existing governance processes, proactively identify areas for continuous improvement, simplification, and streamlining decision making.Accountable to lead, develop and hold managers accountable to create an inclusive, engaged and compliant culture that drives the Pfizer Values to include but not limited to prioritizing performance and growth discussions, succession planning, stewarding DEI priorities and performance management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONSCandidate must demonstrate a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.Bachelor’s degree required20 years of experience w/bachelor’s degree, 18 years with Masters, 15 years with PhD or JD.Acts decisively and with urgency; removes barriers that hinder team productivity.Excellent interpersonal skills required: ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers; build strategic partnerships internally and externally.Strong consultative skills and emotional intelligence.Experience in the Healthcare sector including experience and demonstrated success within a Marketing Leadership function.Track record of ability to apply understanding of US healthcare and policy environment to identify trends that impact Pfizer's business and to proactively translate these insights to develop and drive strategies and tactics that will help ensure sustainable business success.Proven experience in developing, implementing, and executing strategies that create timely and quality access for patients and that drive business performance.Demonstrated key competencies to include:

In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
