**Digital Media/Evidence Technician****University of Colorado Denver****Description****University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus****Department: Anschutz Police Department****Job Title: Digital Media/Evidence Technician****Position #00825673 - Requisition #34497****Job Summary:****Key Responsibilities:**Media Management/Case Investigation Support:+ Duplicate digital media to include body-worn cameras, photographs, and audio files (telephone, radio, etc.) as requested by Investigators, the District Attorney's Office, Defense Attorneys, or the general public. Ensures media is provided following CORA and CCJRA rules.+ Edit footage from various recording devices to redact protected information and images before public release.+ Extract detailed evidence from audio and video media sources to assist investigative efforts.+ Liaison with Records Section to provide case files through the eDiscovery portal to the District Attorney's Office.+ Maintain agency-related audio-visual and related electronic equipment and software.Property and Evidence Support:+ In collaboration with the Records Program Manager, oversees the intake and release of evidence/property obtained via officers, security personnel, and citizens.+ Actively maintain security and integrity of the property/evidence-secured areas.+ Responsible for disposition of housed property and evidence, releasing, converting, and destroying items per court order, statute of limitations, and departmental policy.Records Support:+ Acts as backup support to the Records Program Manager in processing and releasing public and criminal records using open records laws, internal policy procedures, retention schedules, and statutes.Other Duties as Assigned:+ Testify in criminal or civil court or other public hearings to verify the integrity of evidentiary data collected or protocols followed for collection and redaction to authenticate such media.+ Determine and troubleshoot unknown video and audio file types utilizing in-house and online resources to determine how to view and run files.**Work Location:****Onsite** **Aurora, Colorado****Why Join Us:****Why work for the University?**+ Medical: Multiple plan options+ Dental: Multiple plan options+ Additional Insurance: Disability, Life, Vision+ Retirement 401(a) Plan: Employer contributes 10% of your gross pay+ Paid Time Off: Accruals over the year+ Vacation Days: 22/year (maximum accrual 352 hours)+ Sick Days: 15/year (unlimited maximum accrual)+ Holiday Days: 10/year+ Tuition Benefit: Employees have access to this benefit on all CU campuses+ ECO Pass: Reduced rate RTD Bus and light rail service**Diversity and Equity:****Qualifications:****Minimum Qualifications:**+ Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field.+ Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
