This position requires independence and will be responsible for the quality assurance and production of instructional design materials in English and Spanish.A successful candidate must develop and review online learning modules and courses designed for early care and education providers and faculty who speak English or Spanish. The candidate will manage the quality assurance phase of online course development and assist instructional designers in producing e-learning interactives in English and Spanish. The candidate must write, proofread, edit, and translate from English to Spanish and vice-versa. Collaboration, attention to detail, time management, and effective communication skills are critical to this role.**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**Instructional Design and Content Production (100% FTE)INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN PRODUCTION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE (40% FTE)+ Develop online courses and training in English and Spanish following internal processes and standards.+ Review courses and training modules for quality assurance to check that courses do not have functionality or navigation issues.+ Manage the quality assurance phase of online course development.+ Aide in formatting content in the designated Learning Management System (LMS).+ Help with the production of e-learning interactive content.+ Address instructional design and learning technology issues found in courses.+ Ensure all online content meets accessibility standards.SPANISH PRODUCTION TASKS (40% FTE)+ Proofread translated training materials from English to Spanish to ensure the accuracy of the translation.+ Confer with biliterate content developers on language choices when needed.+ Prepare instructional materials for deployment on learning management systems, ensuring consistency of style, design, and learner-centered focus.+ Create interactive learning in English and Spanish.+ Use and contribute to an in-house dictionary of preferred terms for accurate and consistent translation of early learning language in Spanish.+ Review learning instructions for easy understanding for diverse Spanish-speaking learners.COMMUNICATIONS (20% FTE)+ Communicate and coordinate with internal and external personnel to check that the project meets the requirements. This includes unit leads, media production, graphic design, content writers, and editors.+ Meet regularly with Director of Professional Learning and Coaching and Senior Director of Quality Recognition as requested to align programmatic vision with products.+ Participate in course design team meetings. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**+ Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, communications, or a related field.+ Biliterate in English and Spanish and 2+ years’ experience in proofreading, writing, and translating educational materials for Spanish-speaking audience. **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**+ Experience developing and reviewing courses, training modules, or educational materials for quality assurance.+ Working knowledge of e-learning authoring tools (such as Articulate, Captivate, and H5P).+ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.+ English-Spanish translation.+ Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook.+ e-learning authoring tools (such as Articulate, Captivate, and H5P).+ Learning management systems.+ Accessibility practices.+ Time management.+ Team collaboration.+ Demonstrated commitment to working and learning in an anti-bias, anti-racist environment. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**+ Familiarity with FERPA compliance requirements and standards.+ Basic knowledge of early childhood education, professional development for teachers and early care and education providers.+ HTML and CSS.+ Experience with quality review standards. **Application Process:** The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
