We need a visionary Technical Director to lead our development team and vendors and build a deeply interactive open-source platform (Primer) to empower non-technical educators and organization to build their own tools.In this role, your expertise will be instrumental in transforming innovative ideas into reality. You'll collaborate closely with developers and designers, providing leadership and direction to bring innovative ideas to life.Oversee the design, development, and deployment of our open-source platform, ensuring scalability and integration with multiple systems.+ Lead the creation of AI-powered educational tools and games, driving innovation in learning technologies.+ Work with developers and designers to define technical requirements, scopes, and timelines.+ Maintain high standards of code quality and system reliability through rigorous code reviews and mentorship.+ Manage relationships with technology partners and oversee external partnerships and vendor agreements.+ Facilitate sprint planning sessions, ensuring efficient project management and timely delivery.+ Stay abreast of developments in generative AI, applying insights for continuous improvement.+ Mentor and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.This position is contingent upon funding.You need these qualifications+ A bachelor's degree and over 7 years of experience in a technology management role, preferably in technology startups, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.+ You have a proven track record of managing a team, providing coaching and performance management.+ You have experience as a software engineer or software architect, collaborating closely with a technology-focused team.+ You understand software architecture principles and can guide decision-making for software platforms.+ You have experience overseeing the successful delivery of software projects using modern SDLC methodologies, such as Agile.+ You have worked with CTOs, Software Architects, and other technology leaders to develop and execute a technology strategy.+ You can diagnose faults in software applications and platforms, leveraging your technical expertise and collaboration with technical teams+ You have spent (at least) 10+ hours in hands-on experimentation with cutting-edge generative AI tools, such as GPT-4, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and Gemini Advanced and have actively integrated these tools into your professional workflow.It would be nice if+ You have demonstrated success in leading a new technology initiative.+ You have experience working with senior technology leaders on software delivery strategy.+ You hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.+ You have led technological transformation projects.How to applyWe're eager to learn about you and your work.
