Location: Binghamton, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Wed Jul 24 2024 Job Description:Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)Salary: $55,151Coordinate the personnel and business aspects of the department including:+ Assisting the chair with curricular planning, accreditation reporting, and department administration+ Responsibility for all administrative matters for the department head in their absence, or as delegated+ Monitoring expenditures and supervising the maintenance of financial accounts and records for State IFR and BU Foundation accounts+ Assist in developing and tracking department budgets+ Submit position requests and HR forms for yearly adjunct faculty hires and extra service for faculty and staff+ Prepare and oversee preparation of letters of agreement for guest artists and extra-service payments for faculty+ Oversee travel arrangements, payments, honoraria, and reimbursements for faculty and guest artists+ Provide administrative support for faculty searches and personnel cases+ Provide administrative support for interactions with the BU Foundation+ Provide administrative support for the creation and revision of the annual curricular plan+ Provide administrative support for the completion of the annual accreditation report+ Oversee the purchases and delivery of equipment+ Supervise three departmental staff positionsJob Requirements:+ Earned Bachelor's degree at time of appointment+ Experience in a complex office environment serving the needs of multiple colleagues and other stakeholders+ Advanced experience using Office or Google Workspace suite software and other online work-management software+ Experience managing complex administrative tasks and processes+ Experience making financial transactions and tracking budgets in a professional context+ Experience interfacing with other administrative departmentsPreferred:+ Administrative experience in higher education+ Administrative experience in the artsVisa sponsorship is not available for this positionAdditional Information:Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and verification of degree(s) and credentials.Binghamton University is a tobacco-free campus.Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
