ProfessionalJob Description: The Assistant Director of Technology and Communications leads in the strategy, implementation, operation, support, maintenance, and improvement of the IT infrastructure of all University Recreation facilities (main facility, field complex, and Nicholson Gateway location), as well as develops and executes the departmental communication and marketing strategy in alignment with divisional and institutional parameters. Oversees technology application to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and systems as well as marketing, public relations, social media, web presence, all print and video content for the department. Supervises 3 FT staff and a team of 10+ students. This position reports to the Sr. Associate Director of Finance and Administration.Job Responsibilities

50% Leadership and Management:

Responsible for the direct supervision, training and continued development of the Computer Analyst III, Computer Analyst II and Communications Specialist. Create and manage a $400,000+ technology and communications budget used to upgrade and maintain the network systems as well as execute the department's strategic vision. Serves as primary liaison between ITS, vendors and other departments for all IT needs. Serves as primary Restricted Security Officer (RSO) for departmental users, university enterprise system, network administration, and user support. Serves as Accessibility Officer for electronic forms, software renewals, and UREC website. Serves as project manager on assigned projects to increase productivity, efficiency, and the breadth of services offered by the department.45% Quality Control:

Responsible for physical inventory reporting on all technology and communications assets regardless of dollar amount. Ensures all communications and marketing for the department outputs including internal and external communication to all stakeholders through print, guides, web-based, email and social media venues exudes a high degree of quality. Oversees specific departmental operations including all copy, editing, and communication in multiple mediums. Maintains annual communications calendar and oversees editorial calendar and project management of all components of UREC communications and marketing. Works collaboratively with the Office of Communication and University Relations and adheres to the standards set therein. Oversees integration, support, administration, maintenance, and disposal of all applications and systems including 250+ endpoints, peripherals, audio-visual and Crestron equipment, high end computing systems, servers, tablets, smart classrooms, and point of sales equipment. Identifies and oversees system modifications, upgrades, and enhancements.5% Other Duties as Assigned:

Other duties as assigned by UREC leadership or Senior Associate Director of Finance & Administration. This includes but is not limited to efforts that support broad division/institution efforts including at least 40 hours per year spent helping divisional initiatives such as Move-In Day, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Career Expo, Disability Services Finals Testing, other special projects, etc.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience. Due to the nature of the position and/or responsibilities, in times of emergencies and/or University closures, this position is considered essential.
