In addition to the work of the Sonoma County Winegrowers (SCW), there is a management services agreement with the Sonoma County Grape Growers Foundation ((SCGGF) (dba Fundacion De La Voz De Los Vinedos)) which supports our local vineyard employees in the areas of education, resiliency and workforce development.

Sonoma County Winegrowers is seeking an innovative and energetic communications and social media manager to provide marketing support to our local, regional, national and global marketing initiatives and partners. This person must love agriculture, family business and wine and believe in the long-term value of preserving our local farms in the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop and manage an annual communications strategic plan including social, digital, print, websites and eblasts• Manage social media program strategy and its implementation across both SCW and SCGGF• Manage social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and others• Obtain insights from grape growers, wineries, suppliers and consumers that will drive storytelling and communication efforts for Sonoma County wine region• Manage SEO and ensure SCW and Sonoma County wine region are searchable across key topics• Manage websites for SCW and SCGGF including content creation• Develop materials that reinforce the brand image for Sonoma County grapes, wines and the destination• Write and design eblasts and communications for SCW and SCGGF• Prepare program recaps that can be shared with board and grape growing community• Oversee grants proposals, including reporting and management of follow-up requirements• Stay current on wine and winegrape research and insights and share with team and board• Manage media relations, including story development, press tours, press releases and events• Establish relationships with key media, both trade and consumer to insure regular coverage of Sonoma County and its grapes and wines• Monitor community issues that affect growers and respond when appropriate• Draft and edit press releases• Manage relationship with PR agency

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with academic coursework in a relevant discipline (i.e., marketing, communications, journalism, public information, business administration or other closely related fields of study)

Excellent English language communication skills including the ability to read and summarize material in a broad range of professional publications and the ability to write clear, concise and compelling reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Fluency in languages other than English will be considered a plus, especially Spanish.

Knowledge and personal proficiency to use all Microsoft Office software as well as the Internet and Social Media platforms.

Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including necessary endorsements, as required by the State of California to perform essential job functions of the position.

Must be able to travel to support the promotion of the region.
