Marketing Manager

Full-time

Concordia Publishing House, the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) is currently looking to hire a full-time Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate should have a commitment to our mission, a passion for publishing, and a dedication to marketing our products to enhance and support the proclamation of the Gospel throughout member congregations and the world. This position is responsible for the management of products and services from ideation to sunsetting to optimize cost, value, and cycle time in support of CPH's mission and business plan goals.Specific duties include:

Develops, updates, and executes the annual business plan to achieve results daily including sales, costs, inventory, budgets, and impact.

Supports the publishing plan by preparing financially viable product proposals for approval.

Researches the competitive environment to position products in the marketplace, identifying opportunities.

Actively engages in an ongoing study of relevant market segments regarding characteristics, buyer profiles, market trends, etc.

Works to optimize content, covers, and titles to maximize product impact.

Oversees and assists with maintaining and updating product metadata.

Works to ideate and implement promotional campaigns including seasonal sales, warehouse sales, and other targeted offers.

Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with members of the creative team(s) to ensure the successful development and marketing of products in assigned product groups.

Collaborates with other marketing managers, copywriters, and designers to develop marketing programs designed to maximize both the launch of new titles as well as products later in their life cycle.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Product Management, Brand Management, Budgeting, Strategic Planning, Microsoft Excel

Business Writing, Adobe InDesign

Ability to research and recognize opportunities.

Ability to provide leadership for and work with members of a team.

Knowledge in the areas of publishing, printing, graphic design, or design layout is helpful.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field.

Five years of related marketing/business experience including product management, brand management, data analysis, and budgeting.
