The Senior Technical Designer will lead the technical design of Lands’ End products for multiple categories and channels. They will manage the overall workflow within specific categories and channels. They will partner with the cross functional team in developing product from initial concept through fit to production. They will successfully translate the product design and style vision into a consistent fit and quality level through application of blocks, pattern analysis, fit analysis, appropriate construction methods, accurate specification packages, and fit session management.

Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

Drive product technical development information including fit, material, specifications, and construction elementsUnderstand and ensure products adhere to manufacturing, construction, and fit standards while maintaining consistencyDevelop, prepare and send product specification(s) to vendors guaranteeing they will have accurate and complete information, insuring product will be confirmed on-timeDevelop, approve, and track all samples for product development, pre-production, and production, while meeting approval deadlines.Proactively identify and advise on the fit, production, quality and costing issues to ensure brand integrityLead initiatives to design/develop innovative construction as it relates to fit and cost savings.Mentor and lead others to the outcomes of the above (coaching, leading, technical training).Qualifications:

Degree in fashion design, apparel production or textiles experience preferred8+ years of proven technical product development experienceAdvanced knowledge of pattern making and pattern grading, apparel productionAdvanced knowledge of garment construction, fabric characteristics, and garment performance standards.Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsExcellent prioritization and organizational skillsProven problem-solving and decision making abilities
