Position Summary

The IMS team is currently searching for Media Interns. The person(s) in this position will support the technical and administrative activities within UNC School of Medicine Instructional Media Services (IMS).

Duties include:

* Aiding with animation, audio, and video production.* Assisting with livestreaming major events.* Writing and graphic design support for technology user guides.* Assisting with administrative duties including project tracking, data entry, inventory, gear maintenance, and documentation.* Assisting ATS Classroom Support staff if required.

Students may be interested in this position if they are studying in an area related to instructional technology, digital media production, information technology, or communications.

Training will be provided to students on any systems, software, and procedures that are specific to their role.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the position's role.- Computer coursework may be substituted year-for- year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- Journey level requires an additional six months experience- Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

* Proven experience with the operation of media production equipment (e.g. cameras, 360 cameras, microphones, lights, recorders).* Strong working knowledge and experience using media production software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g. Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, After Effects).* Strong computer skills and the motivation to learn new technologies.* Excellent written and oral communication skills.* Strong organization, analytic, and problem-solving skills.* Be able to work independently.* Be able to communicate with different audiences, including our tech support team and non-technical end users.* Be able to work collaboratively with a variety of staff members (other work study students, technical staff, leadership, and administrative staff).

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

* Familiarity with set production process and stagecraft.* Working knowledge of the three stages of media production.* Proven ability to write effective treatments, scripts and/or project plans.* Interest in advancing higher education learning methods.* Interest in furthering public health.
