Job Summary

The Audiovisual Specialist senior is responsible for the advanced operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting classroom audiovisual (AV) systems and equipment. This role involves designing, installing, and managing AV solutions in classrooms and for various events, presentations, and meetings.

The AV Specialist Sr. will ensure high-quality AV experiences by providing technical support and guidance to users, coordinating with vendors, and staying updated on the latest AV technologies and trends.

Essential Functions

40% Utilizes advanced knowledge of diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, restoring, upgrading and installing audio visual systems and multimedia equipment

Operates with technical staff, vendors and cross functional teams to install, repair and maintain scalable audio visual systems;

Assigned higher technology access for problem resolution or upgrades to audio visual systems;

Prioritizes troubleshooting process and manages time through completion of repairs; elevates problems to the appropriate level including vendor support

Determines whether an issue can be solved or needs to be escalated due to issues with design or engineering of audio-visual systems; recommends and implements necessary adjustments to designs

30% Possess knowledge of best practices, installation standards and manufacturer's specification for audio visual systems and multimedia equipment

Plans for and manages audio/visual support for college events, conferences and classes

Documents status of issues and provides updates to management teams and end-users

Interprets audio visual signal line drawings, and understands system function to determine the cable pull schedule; develops line drawings as necessary for proposed systems

Reviews, analyzes and recommends appropriate inventory of equipment; reviews or recommends new equipment related to obsolescence planning

20% Utilizes advanced knowledge to commission and integrate audio visual systems with IT systems

Trains end-users on audio visual and multimedia equipment

Develops and updates policies, procedures, and standards

10% Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience with supporting audio visual and multimedia systems, hardware and software and end-users of audio visual systems.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

1. Experience with Crestron Control Systems

2. General networking knowledge for connecting audio-visual and media devices

3. Knowledge of the architectural, cabling, and control system requirements of AV technologies and sound reinforcement

4. Experience providing audio-visual support for live events (live-streaming, large format meetings, sporting events)

5. Experience with handling equipment failures and providing quick or alternative solutions.

6. Experience with asset inventory management

Special Working ConditionsPossession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving:
