Communications Specialist

Brophy College Preparatory is seeking a Communications Specialist with excellent writing, editing and digital content creation skills to support the Director of Communications.

Job Summary: Brophy's Communications Office supports all areas of the school, including Alumni Relations, Events, Advancement, Admissions, the President, Principal, Athletics, parent organizations and more. The Communications Specialist will help create and execute engaging communications across website, blog, email, social media platforms and print collateral for these departments and organizations. This includes project management, editing and distribution of e-newsletters and writing for the school's bi-annual magazine. Responsibilities additionally include managing social media, designing collateral for the school's Special Events department, assisting with on-campus and events photography, and other projects as assigned by the Director of Communications. Detailed responsibilities include:

? Project management, editing and distribution of bi-weekly school e-newsletter and blog, in addition to a monthly alumni e-newsletter

? Writing for the school's bi-annual print magazine and digital counterpart

? Daily social media posts, covering school news, activities and events

? Weekly photography of special events, student activities and organized group/individual photo shoots (may include after school hours and weekends)

? Updates to school website pages, as needed by departments

? Supplement in-house graphic design of collateral materials, i.e., posters, flyers, banners, signage, etc. for the school's four annual major fundraisers (Auction, Fashion Show, Golf Classic and Power Breakfast) and 11 community events as assigned by the Director of Special Events.

Job Requirements: A four-year degree in journalism, communications or a related field is required with workplace experience in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills, including a sound knowledge of AP Style and photography skills; be experienced with managing a robust social media editorial calendar; have experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and a strong visual eye; and possess an understanding of branding and a thorough attention to detail. Familiarity with Blackbaud products including Raiser's Edge and Student Management (database systems), Flodesk, Hootsuite, Beefree and WordPress is a plus.
