Job Description
Closets by Design is a nationally recognized leader in home organizing systems. We design, manufacture, and install a complete line of custom closets, home office furniture, media systems, wall-beds, garage cabinetry and more.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to immediately fill the position of Drafting Technician.
Essential Job Functions:
Technician will review designer drawings to ensure functionality and that design is compliant with the company's product offerings and installation requirements and limitations.
Enter designs into drafting system (Cabinet Vision), ensuring all measurements and sold elements are present and work within system capabilities.
Assemble an accurate cut-list that identifies all parts and machining requirements for the components required by the design.
Order job required special order items through various outside vendors and in-stock with accuracy.
Preform work on services and additional work orders as needed.
Maintain accurate personal workload log.
Provide support to the Sales, Production, and Installation Departments, as required.
Final system review of completed jobs.
Communicate with designers and other departments when questions arise.
Accurately enter all components into Cabinet Vision and review final design.
Computer proficient in all applications of MS Office
Experience:
Drafting: 1 year (Preferred)
Minimum Preferred Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required with drafting experience. College training preferred. Must be familiar with computer usage and technology. Drafting or design experience preferred. CAD or Cabinet Vision experience a plus. Intermediate experience with Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Manufacturing experience preferred. Typing of 40 WPM preferred. New Graduates welcome to apply!

Preview designer drawings for computer renderings.
Complete drawings in Cabinet Vision and send to nested router.
Assemble an accurate cut-list for machining requirements.
Verify the pricing, order special parts, components, etc. from partnering vendors.
Accurately enter pricing, special order and all notes for job into Database.
