What we need

OPCA seeks a Communications and Engagement Manager who elevates the work of our health centers through various communication strategies which further visibility and community awareness and ultimately increase our impact. Along with the Public Affairs and Development Director, this role will plan and implement effective strategies to support, retain, and promote sponsors, funders, and vendor relationships to achieve established OPCA goals. This role is responsible for managing activities related to communications, public relations, social media, donor engagement, and sponsorship.

What you’ll do

Communications (~70% of time)

Develop, manage, and evaluate organization-wide communications plan, with oversight from the Public Affairs and Development Director.

Create compelling content for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, press releases and OPCA’s website.

Maintain and monitor social media/digital platforms and take ownership for accelerating engagement on each platform—including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others as identified.

Track, analyze and report on the impact of OPCA’s digital presence and key performance metrics and provide reports using Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.

Oversee multiple member newsletters, across all OPCA lines of business; procure and proof content and adapt graphic designs to align with OPCA brand(s) and messaging.

Provide logistical and administrative support for Communications Peer Group to continue to build relationships with external stakeholders, including other PCAs and member communications staff.

Stay informed of industry development, trends, and solutions.

Engagement & Promotion (~15% of time)

Collaborate with Public Affairs and Development Director and Programs team to create targeted marketing campaigns to attract donors and sponsors.

Identify and facilitate sponsorships and partnerships in a manner which supports OPCA and donor/community engagement.

Oversee event promotion and marketing efforts to maximize attendance and engagement at OPCA Annual Conference.

Ensure OPCA events are in line with organization’s overall marketing strategy, including vendor/sponsorship alignment.

Build and publish event registration pages via selected platform(s).

Essential Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities (~5% of time)

In partnership with appropriate leadership, contribute to budget development and management of resources for program area.

May be involved with one or more internal OPCA committees.

Other Duties and Responsibilities (~10% of time)

Conduct individual administrative duties (e.g., scheduling, time sheets, internal organization communications, etc.)

Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Experienced professional with demonstrated proficiency in communications. Requires a bachelor’s degree and/or up to five years’ experience in communications and graphic design.

Fluency in written and spoken English required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working skills in Canva or similar creative suites.

Working knowledge of social media consolidation tools like Loomly or Hoot Suite.

Familiarity with Microsoft Suite.

Highly organized and excellent attention to detail.

Ability to anticipate needs and manage time effectively.

Ability to utilize backwards planning for events management.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects, meeting requests and events simultaneously.

Ability to work independently and take initiative, and make independent, informed decisions as well as ability to collaborate across the organization.

Clear and concise communication.

Demonstrated excellence in internal and external customer service.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Flexibility with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Diplomatic and sensitive to maintaining confidentialities, as appropriate.

Strong computer skills, including thorough knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

Strong writing and editing experience.

Familiarity with photo, design, website and online publishing applications and programs or ability to learn these programs.

Comfortable using social media accounts such as Facebook and X.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Graphic design.

Website CMS applications.

Online communication tools.

Event planning experience.

Social media savvy.

Starting Range

$65,000 - $75,000
