*OFFICIAL JOB TITLE: *Video Production Manager*DIVISION: *University Marketing*DEPARTMENT: *University Marketing*BARGAINING UNIT STATUS: *ESU*, *Cat. 14*FLSA STATUS: * Exempt*EEO STATUS: *37*JOB CODE: *2920*REPORTS TO: *Director of Digital Content Strategy*SUPERVISES: *Exercises direct supervision of Video Production Specialist and 1 - 5 student employees*SUMMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: *The Video Production Manager conceptualizes and creates videos that capture and amplify the University’s brand, mission, and vision. Distributed across the web, social platforms, email campaigns, presentations, events, and more, this position is critical and coordinates efforts supporting a wide array of initiatives, including advertising, marketing, and web content creation. The incumbent has a strong presence on campus, seeks and identifies unique stories to capture, and edits, produces, and distributes video content. The incumbent storyboards and creates scripts, has thorough knowledge of equipment, lighting, sound and teleprompters, speed in post-production and a high degree of detail in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role coordinates and oversees video production work contracted out to third parties, monitors and makes recommendations regarding budgeting.Finally, this position follows the University’s best practices to build and/or support student academic success and retention and assist in meeting strategic objectives for persistence and timely graduation of all the student population.*EXAMPLES OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *

* Creates best-in-class videos and images that tell the stories of UMass Dartmouth, ranging from highest quality productions to fast-turnaround videos optimized for social media* Collaborates with University Marketing staff to develop video concepts that support marketing, recruitment, and retention efforts* Storyboards and create scripts based upon concepts, independently or with the team* Works with University Marketing and other constituents to produce and publish videos based on approved concepts* Develops and improves upon video production processes to produce high-volume, good production value videos and video assets* Evaluates and makes recommendations for the selection of equipment, supplies and software related to video production and works with University Marketing and CITS staff to recommend and implement new hardware and software* Ensures video projects stay within budget and manages video equipment needs for the department* Creates social media video content to support evolving trends* Coordinates and oversees the work of third parties contracted to create videos* Recruits and supervises student workers for roles in production and as on-camera talent* Attends University events to record video and take photos* Operates video, audio, and computer equipment to stream live events, using a closed-circuit system or web stream* Maintains working knowledge of newest advancements in video technology, production techniques, digital formatting, and copyright in legal issues* Manages assigned staff, including student employees and volunteers* Assists with the creation of projects and contributes to priority projects* Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned and/or the job description changed periodically to reflect changing organization needs*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*

* *EDUCATION: *Bachelor’s degree in a related field* *EXPERIENCE:** Demonstrated (over 3 years) experience in all facets of digital image capture, editing, studio and field lighting and sound* Demonstrated (over 3 years) experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, and Microsoft Office* Previous (over 1 year) experience with file conversion software* Previous (over 1 year) experience managing video shoots, budgets, schedules, and talent

* Work experience in higher education* Experience managing staff* Experience in the use of a video switcher and soundboard* Understanding of three-point lighting techniques*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:*

* Ability to carry, move and stage photographic and video equipment* Ability to create inventive, compelling, and effective videos* Proficient, constructive, and effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the University community* Storyboarding and presentation skills* Ability to analyze video analytics and make recommendations based on performance data* Ability to shift gears quickly between assignments, based on priority and need* Ability to manage competing priorities and be deadline-oriented* Must be able to function in a collaborative, iterative environment, with each iteration improving upon the previous* Working knowledge of current industry standard audio and video file formats along with post-production techniques* Understands use of video on social media platforms and adapts to evolving trends* Ability to research and implement new techniques and equipment* Ability to use a DSLR for quality photos* Ability to direct people and groups based on video or photography needs and work in a team environment* Proficiency with current audio and video editing hardware and software, including the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite* Strong project management skills* Strong interpersonal and communication skills* Ability to work with little supervision and be skilled in understanding, interpretation, and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines*SALARY:*$63,389 to $77,296.05**UMass Dartmouth offers exciting benefits such as:
