The Video Production Manager conceptualizes and creates videos that capture and amplify the Universitys brand, mission, and vision. Distributed across the web, social platforms, email campaigns, presentations, events, and more, this position is critical and coordinates efforts supporting a wide array of initiatives, including advertising, marketing, and web content creation. The incumbent has a strong presence on campus, seeks and identifies unique stories to capture, and edits, produces, and distributes video content. The incumbent storyboards and creates scripts, has thorough knowledge of equipment, lighting, sound and teleprompters, speed in post-production and a high degree of detail in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role coordinates and oversees video production work contracted out to third parties, monitors and makes recommendations regarding budgeting.Finally, this position follows the Universitys best practices to build and/or support student academic success and retention and assist in meeting strategic objectives for persistence and timely graduation of all the student population.EXAMPLES OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Creates best-in-class videos and images that tell the stories of UMass Dartmouth, ranging from highest quality productions to fast-turnaround videos optimized for social mediaCollaborates with University Marketing staff to develop video concepts that support marketing, recruitment, and retention effortsStoryboards and create scripts based upon concepts, independently or with the teamWorks with University Marketing and other constituents to produce and publish videos based on approved conceptsDevelops and improves upon video production processes to produce high-volume, good production value videos and video assetsEvaluates and makes recommendations for the selection of equipment, supplies and software related to video production and works with University Marketing and CITS staff to recommend and implement new hardware and softwareEnsures video projects stay within budget and manages video equipment needs for the departmentCreates social media video content to support evolving trendsCoordinates and oversees the work of third parties contracted to create videosRecruits and supervises student workers for roles in production and as on-camera talentAttends University events to record video and take photosOperates video, audio, and computer equipment to stream live events, using a closed-circuit system or web streamMaintains working knowledge of newest advancements in video technology, production techniques, digital formatting, and copyright in legal issuesManages assigned staff, including student employees and volunteersAssists with the creation of projects and contributes to priority projectsPerforms other job-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned and/or the job description changed periodically to reflect changing organization needsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree in a related fieldEXPERIENCE:

Demonstrated (over 3 years) experience in all facets of digital image capture, editing, studio and field lighting and soundDemonstrated (over 3 years) experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, and Microsoft OfficePrevious (over 1 year) experience with file conversion softwarePrevious (over 1 year) experience managing video shoots, budgets, schedules, and talent
