Vice Chancellor of Leadership Communications, this position is responsible for overseeing one or more USG social media accounts. Responsibilities Create content, manage and track social media posts by USG social media accounts, as well as external stakeholders. Develop/implement USG's social media engagement strategy including consistent posts and events. Create and maintain USG social media accounts. Respond to comments, questions, and concerns expressed by channel/platform visitors. Coordinate with other communication professionals on marketing and branding strategies. Track social media outreach and effectiveness through analytical tools. Perform related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism or another related field; A minimum of 3 years experience as a communications professional or an equivalent combination of education, training and related job experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education. Experience with social media tools, digital marketing and communications platforms. Experience in developing and executing creative marketing strategies. Experience in communications, marketing and social media communications, or in a related area (including training and experience in writing for the Web using search engine optimization techniques). Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures associated with developing content for the web. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to respond diplomatically to sensitive and critical issues. Ability to respond quickly and effectively multi-task. Ability to work confidentially with sensitive information. Knowledge of marketing and communication principles. Knowledge of document layout principles. Knowledge of social media communications principles. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Knowledge of photography, videography and video editing techniques. Knowledge of AP Style. Skill in writing for multiple platforms, including video scripts. Skill in developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies. Skill in collecting, compiling, and reporting on data. Skill in decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in teamwork and collaboration.
