For more information, visit our website at .Job Overview:As the Design Manager, you will coordinate design activities and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that our assets exceed market expectations in terms of design, quality, and sustainability. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on leader with strong business acumen, proven skill in team development and project management.Core Responsibilities:Manage and facilitate the design process for acquisitions, renovations, and special projects.Work with external marketing and design teams to develop inspiration and design direction, review brand logo, designs, colors, and signage.Generate design directions and material selections for unit interiors at varying scope levels.Lead, review, and manage third party consultants through design phases and installation of furniture.Work with Construction and Asset Management teams to value engineer/reselect products as needed, while maintaining design integrity.Review Architectural plans in conjunction with Interior Design Drawings, to ensure proper coordination.Conduct site walks to address issues and ensure conformance to design specifications.Maintain knowledge of design trends and conduct market research by touring local comps.Create, enhance, and implement design protocols and procedures.Work with the Asset Management team and end users to determine factors affecting the planning of their workspace based on preferences, purpose, and function.Manage space planning, layout, and utilization of furnishings, both new and existing, as well as finish and color coordination.Oversee quality assurance guidelines and quality control processes.Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Construction.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or related field. Significant and applicable prior experience in a similar position may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.Interior Design Professional License - NCIDQ5+ years of professional design work, ideally in multifamily or hospitality environments.Proficient in Microsoft Office and other design software (Photoshop, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, etc.)Ability to travel as required (25-50%)Result-oriented and flexible with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication.Ability to confidently present designs to CEO with backup and alternate recommendations.Experience leading and coordinating design teams.Must be detail-oriented and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.Ability to work well under pressure; juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly.Must have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and be self-motivated.Display strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design, space planning skills and detailing.Acumen for how things are built and constructability, and the ability to apply that knowledge to support the project design and budget.Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings and specifications.Benefits:Comprehensive health insurance package401(k) matchingFlexible time offPaid vacation and holidaysVacation reimbursementRental discounts
