Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Hydrographic Technicians. As a Hydrographic Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our civil engineering projects by conducting hydrographic surveys, collecting data, and producing accurate and detailed bathymetric maps. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure that project objectives are met with precision and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

- Perform hydrographic surveys using a variety of equipment, including single-beam and multibeam echo sounders, side-scan sonar, and GNSS positioning systems

- Conduct field investigations and inspections to identify potential hazards and obstacles in waterways, harbors, and coastal areas

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to determine survey objectives, methodologies, and deliverables

- Perform safe small vessel operations

- Maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy during field operations

- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members

- Stay current with advancements in hydrographic surveying technology and best practices to enhance project outcomes and efficiency

Job Requirements

Job Requirements

- High School diploma

- 3+ years of hydrographic surveying, data processing, analysis, and interpretation

- USCG license required

- C.H. certification, preferred

- Proficiency in operating hydrographic survey equipment and software, such as Hypack, CARIS, QINSy, and ArcGIS

- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in varying weather and environmental conditions, including offshore and remote locations

- Comfortable working on the ocean and demonstrating minimal susceptibility to seasickness, as the role may involve extended periods aboard survey vessels in various sea conditions
