Description of Job

The Lottery's mission is to grow revenue responsibly in order to maximize proceeds for outdoor recreation, conservation and schools for the good of all Coloradans.

What we do:

The Marketing department within the Lottery Division is responsible for supporting over $800 million in Lottery ticket sales a year through producing the right products (mix, price and payouts), advertising these products to generate demand, obtaining help from proceeds partners to recognize the work accomplished with the help of Lottery funds, and maintaining a high favorability rating with the public of the Lottery as well as supporting responsible gaming and increasing the conservation message to residents of Colorado. The Lottery has returned over 4 billion dollars to the State of Colorado.

The typical day as an Advertising Manager:

You will be working in a fast paced environment, working with various stakeholders, to brainstorm, create and produce Lottery advertisements. Your attention to detail and ability to meeting strict deadlines will ensure contracts for services are accurate and work is done timely. Primary Duties:

Manages the timing, creation, development, production, and placement of advertising for all Lottery products, corporate initiatives, responsible gaming and proceeds awareness.

Provides creative direction to the advertising agency and being a subject matter expert on Lottery policies, standards, advertising strategy, brand guidelines, appropriate content, tone and voice, best responsible gaming practices and requirements.

Supervises all digital, print and broadcast creative production, and accuracy of all information communicated through Lottery advertising materials.

Works with advertising agency to ensure the creative work being developed is on- target with strategy provided by the Lottery during initial development phases.

Collaborates with various stakeholders to develop and execute marketing initiatives and advertising campaigns to support product and corporate initiatives.

Manages Advertising Services vendor contracts.

Develops the advertising section of the marketing budget and tracks the annual appropriate budgets.

Authorizes job starts, approves cost estimates and reviews billing from advertising agency.

Position Details:

This position will occasionally need to travel throughout the state of Colorado for advertising shoots. This position reports to the office in Lakewood or Pueblo once a month or more if needed. Out of state conferences may be an option.

Must meet one of the following or any combination of experience/education to meet the minimum (MQ) qualifications:

OPTION 1:

7 years of experience with creating advertisements either at an advertising agency or as the client of an advertising agency (managing the creative process, marketing campaigns or similar) or have worked on advertising campaigns in some capacity.

OPTION 2:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a field of study related to the work assignment as determined by the Department.

AND

3 years of experience with creating advertisements either at an advertising agency or as the client of an advertising agency (managing the creative process, marketing campaigns or similar) or have worked on advertising campaigns in some capacity.

OPTION 3:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a field of study related to the work assignment as determined by the Department.

AND

1 year of experience with creating advertisements either at an advertising agency or as the client of an advertising agency (managing the creative process, marketing campaigns or similar) or have worked on advertising campaigns in some capacity.

Substitutions:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to seven (7) years

Special Necessary Qualifications:

Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Colorado Driver's License.

Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.

Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.
