Job Summary:The Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed shop drawings and technical plans for custom millwork projects. This role requires strong knowledge of architectural drafting, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with our design and production teams to ensure that all projects are executed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and produce detailed shop drawings and technical plans for custom millwork, cabinetry, and woodwork projects.Interpret architectural blueprints and project specifications to create accurate and precise drawings.Collaborate with designers, architects, and production teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements and timelines.Revise and update drawings based on client feedback, design changes, or production needs.Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) to create 2D and 3D drawings.Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and company quality guidelines.Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.Assist in estimating material quantities and production costs based on drawings.Participate in project meetings to discuss design details and resolve any potential issues.Support production teams by providing technical guidance and answering questions related to the drawings.
Qualifications:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. (preferred, not required)Proven experience as a Drafter, preferably within the millwork or cabinetry industry.Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) for creating detailed technical drawings.Strong understanding of millwork construction techniques and materials.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and clients.Knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and best practices in millwork.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Experience with 3D modeling software is a plus.
