RarelyGENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Manager of Social Media plays a critical role in leading the social strategy, social voice and social engagement for the brand. This role will require a storyteller who is up-to-date on the latest social media trends as well as new platforms and features, engaging and connecting with the company's core audience. A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of social media, someone with a proven track record of planning, delivering and reporting on a range of social media campaigns, across various social platforms and successful demonstration of building the organic social footprint for the brand. This individual will have a proven track record of creating and deploying engaging content that drives measurable results for the brand. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of social media with an emphasis on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube, and proven experience actively nurturing communities to produce brand converts.FOCUS / RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop an effective Social Media Strategy to build brand awarenessPlan, manage and execute social media vision to drive brand discovery and customer engagement via social media channels and team partnerships (i.e. influencers, cross-site events)Produce high-quality written and visual content tailored to each platformRegularly visit Potbelly shops to capture impactful images to aid creation of engaging content.The ability to create graphics using various software toolsMonitor the company's brand on social media plus replying to comments and fielding customer service issuesWork with business partners and other key stakeholders to design and carry out brand social activity, ranging from editorial calendar development, to mining insights for input into social content briefs, and direct engagement with customers, fans, and followers in-channelWork in partnership with creative team to develop best-in-class social content. Collaborate with creative team to progress and sharpen the Potbelly's brand voice across all social channels.Work directly with publishers to understand their best practices for application and the advancement of brand's social effectivenessCommunicate regularly with internal stakeholders and teams to develop and apply learnings over timeMaintain deep understanding of social media metrics and data analysis and ownership of data touchpointsProvide thought leadership and guidance for social media best practices such as content publishing guidelines, KPI benchmarks, and channel growth strategiesComplete understanding of brand voice to develop appropriate copy and reactive responses across all social media channelsPartner with cross-functional teams to ensure that social media and influencer partnerships are aligned with business objectives, including audience and growth goals and overall comms strategyCollect social metrics and provide strategic analysis weekly/monthly and after campaignsAnalyze data to determine whether social media content has achieved its objectivesIdentify and track ongoing trends, as well as escalate any potential issues to internal stakeholdersIdentify and notify the team of appropriate nationally trending topicsIdentify UGC and ask customers for permission to use images on the brand's social channelsOther tasks, as requiredEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BEHAVIORSBachelors Degree in Marketing or related5+ years of progressive experience in Social Media marketing and brand advertisingProven experience in setting social media strategy and content direction.Possess exceptional social media marketing and project management skillsExperience crafting engaging content, including compelling copy and impactful imagery (photography and graphics)Previous agency or fast paced QSR/FCR/Retail driven environment experience is preferredExtensive experience leading social media channels for large scale organizations with large social footprintWorking knowledge of social media management toolsStrong communications skills; ability to effectively communicate information and contribute innovative ideas in written and verbal formatDemonstrated initiative, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentProficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Professional, and internet browser software is requiredAbility to handle confidential and sensitive informationLead and behave according to the Potbelly Values and uphold the Potbelly AdvantageESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONSAbility to stand/walk for 10+ hours per day during marketing events.Ability to travel as needed, multiple times throughout the year.Ability to finely manipulate and key in data.Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music, customer, and employee traffic.Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues in the fieldMust be able to communicate heavily through text, telephone, e-mail, instant messaging, video conferencing, and in-person communications
