Telecommunications Lead

to join our team!Responsibilities:Lead and mentor a small team of telecommunications specialists on best practices, emerging technologies, etc.Design, implement, and maintain telecommunications infrastructure, including VoIP systems, PBX systems, and SIP trunks.Configure and troubleshoot VoIP equipment, such as IP phones, gateways, and session border controllers (SBCs).Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.Conduct regular assessments of telecommunications systems, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in telecommunications and VoIP, providing recommendations for integration and adoption.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures.Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians as needed.Professional Experience and Skills:Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VoIP protocols and technologies, such as SIP, RTP, and codecs.Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).Hands-on experience with VoIP platforms and equipment, such as Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), and Polycom phones.Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.Education and Years of Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with a focus on VoIP systems.Industry certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent, are a plus.Security Clearance:Applicants selected must be eligible to work in the United States, be subject to a government security investigation, and meet eligibility requirements for access to protected information.Work Location:Washington, DC (on-site)Benefits Offered:This position is paid a base salary based on job family, experience and skill level.Health benefits include medical, prescription, dental, and vision plans.Company paid Life Insurance coverage, Short-term and Long-term Disability coverage.Health Savings Account or Flexible spending accounts.401(k) with discretionary company match.Paid time off (PTO) program and eleven (11) paid holidays.Additional time off benefits include parental leave, bereavement leave, volunteer hours.And more.Evoke is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, citizenship, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, creed, physical or mental disability, marital status, veteran status, political affiliation, or any additional factors protected by local, state, or federal laws.
