SUMMARY

The Intermediate Designer will work directly with the project team and will focus on assuming responsibility of the design and documentation of interior design projects. They will begin to take responsibility for designing, directing, and coordinating corporate office projects with direction and oversight. The Intermediate Designer's role will vary depending on the specific nature and size of the projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform interior design assignments under the direction of a Job Captain or Project Manager that may include programming, space planning, pricing plans, design development, finish selection, consultant coordination, construction documentation and construction administration

Proficient in Revit, Autocad, BlueBeam, Microsoft Office, and PowerPointProvide project team coordination for finish plans, specifications and material selectionsAssist with code and city requirements for projects and coordinate with PM to implement/meet requirementsAssist in the development of space plans and pricing plansWork with consultants, brokers, property managers, construction managers, contractors, furniture dealers and product reps to meet overall project objectivesAssist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordinationExperience with codes, exiting and the plan check processAbility to communicate effectively with clients and maintain client relationships through delivery of exceptional serviceCollaborate effectively and efficiently with internal teams on project objectivesParticipate in office activities, initiatives and learning programsQUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BA/BS degree, 3-5 years of relevant experience and trainingProficient in Autocad, Revit, Photoshop, SketchUp and Microsoft OfficeStrong verbal communication and presentation skillsExcellent written and verbal graphic communication skillsHigh level of organization and attention to detailAbility to prioritize and manage tasksSelf-starter who has ability to take initiativeAbility to work well in a team environment with a willingness to learn and growKnowledge of commonly used concepts and practices within the industry, including but not limited to, office space planning, finishes/materials experience and design documentationSkilled at evaluating options and generating solutionsUnderstand and solve technical problemsCurrent basic knowledge of ADA, exiting and building codesLIFE AT SAA

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a Non-Exempt Full-Time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, to be discussed with your direct supervisor.

TRAVEL

This position requires up to 20% local travel. Limited travel may include attending meetings and work sessions in other SAA Offices, Client Offices, or Job Site. Mileage will be reimbursed at predetermined market rate. Individual must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and have reliable transportation. Travel expenses will be reimbursed and per diem provided when appropriate.
