ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND: The Central California Asthma Collaborative (CCAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and direct services, building regional capacity and advocating for sensible policies that improve health and address inequities by reducing environmental impacts and emphasizing the prevention and management of asthma and other chronic diseases.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing Communications (MC) Manager is instrumental in enhancing the visibility and impact of CCAC's initiatives across the San Joaquin Valley and the expanding Sacramento region. This role inspires a dynamic, creative, and strategic thinker who can effectively communicate our mission and engage with diverse communities through various marketing channels. The MC Manager responsibilities include implementation of all marketing and outreach activities related to CCAC's various campaigns, projects and programs. The MC Manager reports to the Development Director and will work closely with the Executive Team and Program Directors to ensure seamless messaging, branding and organizational communications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation and Management:

Develop and distribute engaging content across multiple platforms, including social media, websites, print media, and email campaigns.Create and manage email marketing campaigns, ensuring they are aligned with our strategic goals and effectively communicate with our audience segments.Create multilingual and culturally relevant marketing materials to ensure accessibility and relevance across diverse communities.Develop and implement process for maintaining brand guidelines and approval process for all CCAC program materials.Manage development, distribution and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, brochures, social media posts, and newsletters.Regularly update CCAC's websites (CentralCalAsthma.org, SJVAir.org, EVequity.org and CCACcares.org) to ensure content is accurate, current and relevant.Social Media Strategy and Implementation:

Design and manage an annual social media calendar in alignment with the strategic plan, ensuring a cohesive and proactive approach to content throughout the year.Manage daily activities on major social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, encompassing content creation, scheduling, and analytics.Launch and monitor social media campaigns that align with CCAC's strategic goals, promoting events and key initiatives.Build relationships with followers, influencers, and partner organizations to enhance our social media presence.Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices to continually refine strategies.Community Engagement:

Develop and maintain relationships with community groups and stakeholders, including but not limited to our funded subcontractors, grassroots environmental justice groups, and funders.Engage with our online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a thoughtful and timely manner.Media Relations:

Develop and maintain relationships with local, ethnic, and national media to enhance CCAC's media coverage.Prepare press releases, media kits, and coordinate interviews between CCAC spokespeople and the media.Event Coordination:

Provide support for marketing and community events by coordinating promotional activities, managing logistics, and ensuring effective communication across all channels to maximize engagement and participation.Assist in organizing and promoting potential CCAC key events such as Conferences, Community Fairs, and Health Expos.Oversee logistics, registration, and post-event follow-up to ensure events are successful and impactful.Performance Tracking and Reporting:

Utilize tools like CRM and analytics platforms to track the effectiveness of marketing strategies and campaigns.Prepare regular reports on social media engagement, campaign effectiveness, and strategic outcomes to inform future strategies.Other duties, as assigned.CORE COMPETENCIES

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field required.Healthpromotions, public health coursework, or related Master's degree a plus.

3+ years of experience in marketing or communications, preferably in a non-profit, public health orcommunity-focused organization.

Strong proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management and emailDemonstrated experience with basic graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe CC: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.Experience in multicultural and multilingual content creation is highly desirable.

Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as "Monday" or Asana to effectively organize tasks and communicate with team.

English and Spanish fluency preferred.Ability to work independently, cooperatively and responsibly in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to respond to community and CCAC needs.Demonstrated commitment to community education, environmental and social justice.Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, reliability, flexibility and professionalism.Must demonstrate the ability to be culturally competent in all respects.

TRAVEL

Periodic travel in state (mostly in Central CA region) to meet with community partners, staff media events, join stakeholders and various conferences or trainings as needed; approximately 10% of the time.DRIVING AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid CADL and applicable CA mandated auto insurance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS May be required to obtain COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations.. Lift up to 20 (twenty) pounds.

AUTHORITY AND SUPERVISORY CAPACITY

May supervise staff, volunteers and/or interns if the Marketing and Communications team grows.
