Senior Director, Marketing and Sales

to lead a team of Marketing and Sales professionals responsible for developing and executing the capture strategy for the Surveillance Systems business across the U.S. Defense and Civil Aviation markets.

Maximise your chances of a successful application to this job by ensuring your CV and skills are a good match.This senior leader will partner with the Surveillance VP/GM to create and implement a successful growth and capture strategy utilizing a portfolio of new and existing products that support the long-term strategy of the business. Responsibilities will include functional management of the Marketing and Sales staff; identification, qualification, and pursuit of significant new business opportunities; developing and executing world-class capture strategies; and interfacing across disciplines and departments to achieve business objectives. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with current and future Surveillance domain requirements and intimate knowledge of one or more of Saab’s current Surveillance U.S. Customer base (DoD, FAA, or Commercial Airports/Airlines). The position requires the ability to coach and manage a team of experienced professionals in a complex environment.This position will be located in Saab’s East Syracuse, New York or Washington, D.C. location, and includes customer and partner responsibilities that span the U.S. It will require 30-50% travel, including international - primarily to locations in Sweden.Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Lead and mentor a team of experienced marketing and sales professionals in a results-driven organization.Collaborate closely with Surveillance leadership and Saab, Inc.’s corporate Business Development team to position Saab for growth with future core programs, new technologies, products, services and markets or business models.Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including DoD officials, military branches, government agencies, and airport/airline customers.Identify and qualify potential opportunities, and drive the capture process from opportunity identification to proposal submission. This includes cross-functional collaboration with business leadership, technical experts, proposal teams, and finance partners to develop winning proposals.Maintain and grow existing customer relationships with the customer community.Drive competitive intelligence, market trends, accessible markets and provide insights regarding price-to-win strategies.Support and/or develop strategies to bring new technologies into new or existing markets.Compensation Range:

$225,000-$325,000The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.Skills and Experience:

BS Degree in business or related engineering discipline, MBA preferred.Minimum of 15+ years relevant experience in Aerospace and Defense environment, in Program Management, Business Capture, Business Development, Marketing and Sales, or Military. Industry experience is highly preferred.10+ years of directly or indirectly leading organizations.Demonstrated track record leading large scale aerospace and/or defense business capture efforts.Extensive experience successfully negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large Aerospace and Defense customers.Advanced knowledge of the capture/business strategy and/or the Surveillance stakeholder environment.Knowledge of the DoD & FAA acquisition process, and government procurement policies and procedures.Knowledge of the US government budget process to skillfully navigate detailed defense budgets.Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives.Knowledge of the Air Traffic Management market.Outstanding communication and presentation skills.Capable of obtaining a Secret level clearance.Must be a U.S. citizen.
