Senior Communications Specialist

The Communications Part Lead (Senior Communications Specialist) will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company communication strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate communications, public relations, content creation and leading a team.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive communication and community relations strategies to support L-H Battery objectives and initiatives

Lead the facilitation of companywide giving programs and initiatives

Oversee giving programs, processes, and budgets

Develop and communicate funding initiatives based on in-depth prospect research

Craft and oversee the creation of high-quality content for various channels, including press releases, newsletters, social media, and internal communications

Lead the communications team, providing guidance, support and professional development opportunities

Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders

Represent the company at community meetings, events, and other public forums

Promote positive community engagement through the coordination of community events, sponsorships, and volunteer activities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication platforms

Have in-depth knowledge of the business operations and incorporate into messaging, processes, projects

Manage media relations, including drafting press materials, coordinating interviews, and maintaining relationships with key media contacts

Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement

Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment

Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure our communication efforts remain innovative and effective

Education/Experience:

7-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a similar role with at least 3 years in a leadership role

Bachelor’s degree in a Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field

Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Excellent writing skills

Expert at to developing clear, concise, effective communications, even with short notice

Expert in developing visual presentations

Expert with speech writing

Familiarity with photography

Familiarity with web design and/or effective web layouts

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Prompt and regular attendance within our onsite operations

Flexibility to work adjusted shifts

Additional Requirements:

This role requires up to 10% of travel (domestic)
