The candidate must have strong product development skills and the ability to direct the team with the newest trends to meet market needs.Responsibilities include:Identify and research trend development and design direction for young contemporary knits, loungewear, and activewear.Work closely with the sales and design team to develop the overall concept and product strategy for each season.Identify key fashion trends for each account.Collaborate with the sourcing team to ensure cost-effective materials and trims.Possess strong fabric and trim knowledge for new development, ensuring costing requirements for each customer.Attend fittings to ensure garments meet customer specifications.Manage virtual and in-person fit sessions with design and technical design teams.Manage the time and action calendar to meet deadlines.Shop the marketplace and overseas for new development and fashion inspiration.Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Merchandising.Minimum of 6 years designing knits.Knowledge of knit fabrications and construction details.Strong fashion sense with the ability to identify junior/missy trends.
