UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW).

ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.POSITION HIGHLIGHTSHybrid opportunityValues-based work environmentActive departmental Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee15 days of vacation your first year – Also, 12 days of sick time, 1 personal holiday, and 11 paid holidays each year100% matching, 100% immediately vesting 403(b)PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProviding leadership, mentorship, and supervision to a staff who perform support, implementation, and technical analysis on telecom and mobile device solutions and systems, including adapting and integrating existing software and hardware systems within University of Washington MedicineManaging the design and implementation of user management and support processesGuiding Telecommunications Supervisors in the management of ticket queues and the operational oversight of staff engaged in resolving telecom and mobile device issuesCollaborating with the Director to identify changing business needs and create a workforce plan to strategically allocate resources to evolve the services of both telecom and mobile device teamsRepresenting telecom and mobile devices in leadership, governance, and steering committees by preparing and presenting on KPIs and SLAs to support department iniativesManaging user relationships to analyze, plan, prioritize, and follow up project work and systems requestsEnsuring that production systems operate accurately, reliably, and efficientlyCollaborating with Supervisors and Director to identify professional development opportunities in technical and behavioral skills to support career advancement among the teamsGuiding with Supervisors and Principals to analyze and improve processes and procedures and ensure appropriate documentation and resources to maintain daily operations and implement improvementsGuiding Supervisors and Principals in the management and scheduling of technical activites and the on-call schedule in support of a 24-hour/7 day production environmentTraining departmental staff and their clients in Medical Center standard systemsREQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience6+ years of experience must include:6+ years’ experience mentoring, leading, or managing technology and/or business professionalsDemonstrated management and leadership capabilities with proven ability to influence in matrix environmentProven ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and provide guidance and leadership to staff6+ years progressively responsible experience in analysis, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of workstations, system software, in support of end user computing devices3+ years of senior-level communications technician experienceAdvanced knowledge of communications best practices, installation practices, safety practices, cable management, usage of hand tools, termination equipment, use of power tools, and ladder safetyExperience in supervision of staff responsible for installing and troubleshooting IT Telephony Services and equipmentExperience working with mobile devices using IOS operating systemWorking knowledge of and the ability to mentor others in local and wide area networks technologies including Wi-FiWorking knowledge of and the ability to mentor others in network protocols such as, TCP/IP, and SNMPExperience leading teams in Mobile Device Management toolsExperience in developing and improving workflow procedures for emerging technologiesHands-on experience with and experience training others in end device hardware and software support experienceExperience managing relationships with hardware and software vendorsAdvanced experience leading small to large scale IT projectsABOUT UW MEDICINE – WHERE YOUR IMPACT GOES FURTHERUW Medicine is Washington’s only health system that includes a top-rated medical school and an internationally recognized research center.
