Overview
We are seeking a full-time
Quality Analyst 2
in our Yarmouth, Maine location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership of quality assurance activities for complex features within the Garmin Outdoor product websites and/or software in a team-oriented environment.
Essential FunctionsDemonstrate the role of quality assurance in each phase of the Software Development Life Cycle and/or Product Development Life Cycle and demonstrate knowledge of Garmin product specifications, capabilities and operation related to the market segment being supportedProvide feedback to design and development communities to help improve the quality of deliverablesDesign test plans, scenarios, scripts and/or procedures of moderate-to-significant complexity, in accordance with established Garmin test procedures - including analysis, review and tracing of requirements as necessaryServe as the voice of the customer in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problemsDemonstrate ability to conduct usability tests and communicate results to product ownersDocument defects in defect management system and report defects to developersCollect and analyze test results and beta user feedback (when applicable), and communicate with internal customers and product ownersCommunicate product and/or project status to internal customers, product owners and managementInvestigate and verify issues reported to quality assurance for validity and reproducibilityPerform defect analysis to find related defects and to improve test coverageProactively identify gaps in the processes and provide effective suggestions in advance of issuesVerify software modifications in new software versions to prepare for implementationAssist in test case maintenance as necessary to keep repository currentDefine, document and implement new process improvementsTrain and mentor new quality assurance associatesUnderstand and apply detailed knowledge of Garmin quality assurance processes and proceduresParticipate and assist with the coordination of release deploymentsPerform system analysis techniques and procedures to determine software functional specifications for Garmin productsBasic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
OR
a minimum of 4 years equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Relevant experience or training in product and/or software quality assurance processes and methodologiesMust possess superior organizational/analytical skills, be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, can work independently with minimal supervision, and can exercise sound independent judgmentDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsDesired Qualifications
Bachelor's DegreeOutstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)Previous experience testing and developing/analyzing tests related to a Garmin core product marketRelevant experience or training in creating test plans, conducting usability test, and/or writing test scripts
