OverviewWe are seeking a full-time UI Designer 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and producing basic icons, interface designs, and other graphical needs primarily supporting Garmin market segments.Essential FunctionsCreates basic images such as icons, fonts, graphical themes, and other digital artwork for Garmin deliverables using programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Powerpoint, and other programs in Adobe’s Creative SuiteLearns and applies basic imaging standards, guidelines, and processes in the planning and execution of basic imaging projectsCatalogs icons, fonts, and other graphics for future use and continuity of designWorks closely with others to create concept presentations and graphics for deliverablesEnsures continuity of corporate/department image in graphicsProactively seeks, applies, shares, and retains detailed informationLearns and applies appropriate requirements, standards, processes, procedures, tools, and technologies in addition to thoroughly documenting work in an organized mannerBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communication OR Associate's Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications AND a minimum of 2 years as a Garmin Production Artist OR equivalent combination of education and experienceOutstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledgeDemonstrates a proficient understanding of imaging formats, quality factors, and output-related information fundamental design skills (Composition, information architecture, color theory, typography and animation)Understanding of designing for interactive/on-screen product interfaceDemonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMust be flexible and able to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environmentMust demonstrate strong organization skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasksBasic knowledge of required programs: primarily Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and FigmaDesired QualificationsExperience in Visual Communications or Graphic DesignGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
